A Care Package for Bryan Irvin

Just another ordinary day here at Lurecrest... except!!!! Bryan Irvin is here again, our beloved maintenance brother who has been attending Bible school in Florida all year. He brought his fellow students up to Lurecrest for a little R & R and bonding time. We had been preparing a special care package for him and were about to mail it and then realized he was coming. To save some cash and get to hand deliver it we decided to just wait till he arrived so we could see the look on his face when he opened it.

We love our brother Bryan, Nate wanted to make sure he got into a picture with him. The suspense was thick as Bryan tried to guess what was in the package. We sent him one this fall filled with all sorts of lovely things to remind him of Lurecrest, he says it's the best package he has ever received and was eager to see if this could possibly surpass it in greatness.

Surprise!!! Yep, we made Lurecrest Maintenance T-Shirts... that just so happen to be endowed with the picture I took of Bryan the last time he visited. So, these are the official maintenance team t-shirts that we have had for about 2 weeks now but were waiting to publicize because we wanted to surprise dear Bryan. I'll share more about them later.

Breakfast for the Wave Group

This morning we had a group from the Hickory Nut Gorge visit us for breakfast. The group is called WAVE and is an organization of businessman from the local area who's goal is to encourage the development and betterment of this community. Each month they meet at some business to see what it's about and this month we were blessed to have them here. Their hope is to find organizations that they can support which will make the lives of the people in the gorge better, we hope that they see the mission that Christ has given us and be able to help us minister the Gospel to more people here
We had a great turn out, seemed like roughly 50 or so people from the area took time out of their busy schedules to come and here about activities occuring in the gorge. This is Tommy Hartzog, the man who has set up this group, Nate and Jeremy got a chance to meet him yesterday and were blessed to see his vision for the community.

Jerry Martin, the Executive Director here was also able to be present, and was able to share with these businessmen from the area the aim of our ministry. It was such a blessing to get to boast in the works Christ has been doing here, and to ask for help that He would be exalted and set those who come to these grounds free.
