Our ESBS teach Tom Phillips who is also one of our Outdoor Adventure Program's directors has been beggin us to dismantle the Gaunlet for some time now. We figured you would enjoy seeing some of the carnage that took place. Fortunately you are being spared from the odor and filth of a 6 month old mudpit.
What the Gauntlet was... the ultimate medieval test of a cabin's courage;
1st Challenge - Scale the Net of Cargo and Retrieve the Chalice of Antidote
2nd Challenge - Answer Rublub's Riddle
3rd Challenge - Traverse Narrow Bridge of Clobberness
4th Challenge - Swim through the Muddy Moat
5th Challenge - Conquer the Spool of Doom
6th Challenge - Fly the Gliding Galileo
7th Challenge - Storm the Castle Wall
8th Challenge - Solve the Puzzling Puzzle
9th Challenge - Climb Sir Jacobias' Ladder
10th Challenge - Rescue your Noble from Lure Lagoon
11th Challenge - Dodge the Bombardment of the Minion on your return
As you can tell, Big Nate didn't waste any time tearing this thing down. We took the "Backy" to it and 'no mas' Gauntlet. We here at Lurecrest have been so encouraged to see the success of the Gauntlet though and plan on making new program driven/theme oriented activities every year from now on. So we'll all have to see what we come up with this next year.
And oh yes, we kept the Spool of Doom, we will put it somewhere as a relic of the Gauntlet so that it's memory may be preserved.
