The Ike Martin

For the past two weeks we have been blessed to have Isaac Martin up here working with our maintenance staff. Ike, as we here at camp call him, is the son of our fearless leader, Executive Director Jerry Martin. Ike has grown up here at Lurecrest and worked on staff off and on for the last few years. He had recently been working in California doing some various odd jobs there but has just moved back to North Carolina.

Ike is one of those blessed individuals who can do just about anything, and the things he hasn't done before he is plenty smart enough to figure out very quickly. Here on the Lurecrest Maintenance team that is both a blessing and a curse. It is a blessing in that we try to utilize the talents we have the best way we can; meaning less painting, mulching, leaf-raking, and ditchdigging. It is a curse in that some of the jobs around here aren't the funnest of things to do... such as fixing a waterline when the temperature is hovering around freezing.
So here is Ike, blessing us with his presence in a frigid cold ditch as we fix a waterline, hurray!!! Be thankful I spared the pictures of the poopy pipe we had to work on, oh, and just to inform you... poopy pipe = sewage line. Praise God for Ike Martin, he has put countless hours in here at Lurecrest over the years trying to help make this place be a facility where people can see Christ. Yet another one of our brothers who see Jesus here at camp and desires that others will too. Thanks for helping up here Ike, we'll see you again soon enough we hope.
